AADHI Screenplay Formatter was created by Adithya Thejas, a filmmaker, screenwriter, and software developer from Kerala, India.
The project was born from a practical challenge faced by many Malayalam screenwriters: scripts exported from popular screenplay software often lose their formatting when opened in Google Docs™. AADHI Screenplay Formatter was developed to solve this problem by automatically restoring screenplay structure, formatting, scene numbering, character cues, dialogue formatting, transitions, and other screenplay elements with a single click.
The goal of the project is simple:
Make screenplay formatting faster.
Reduce manual formatting work.
Improve collaboration through Google Docs™.
Support Malayalam screenplay writing workflows.
Help writers focus on storytelling instead of formatting.
AADHI Screenplay Formatter currently includes:
Automatic Scene Numbering
Renumber Scenes
Format Entire Script
Format Unformatted Scenes
Scene Page Splitting
Dialogue Formatting
Character Cue Detection
Parenthetical Formatting
Transition Formatting
Malayalam Script Support
Roman Character Name Support
Google Docs™ Integration
Adithya works in film production and has experience in screenwriting, filmmaking, post-production, visual effects, and software development. The formatter was developed as a practical tool for real-world screenplay workflows used by writers, assistant directors, and production teams.
The project continues to evolve with improvements based on user feedback. Planned enhancements include additional screenplay formatting tools, workflow improvements, and expanded support for Malayalam content creators.
